As with a closely related Baltimore side chair in the MESDA Collection (Acc 2355) this pair of chairs have front spade feet, oval backs with three vertical pierced splats with the center splat with a chain of four inlaid bellflowers, swelled front seat rails upholstered over half the rails, veneered cross banding inlay at the bottoms of the rails and cross corner braces typical of this school of Baltimore chairs.  Other examples can be found in the collections of the Baltimore Museum of Art and Homewood House.
