Sideboard
Cherry
Tennessee of western tip of Virginia
15″ D 34.25″ W 31″ H
C. 1820-1830

This charmingly proportioned sideboard represents a practical, rural interpretation of a popular form.  The rich dark surface of the cherry has not been subjected to the harsh refinishing craze of the mid-twentieth century and retains an excellent patina.   Secondary wood is poplar.
