A pair of remarkable marked tobacco jars from the Three Bells Pottery. These large jars were used to store long twists or plugs of tobacco. They are decorated with a West Indian or American Indian figure symbolizing the Americas. In the second half of the 18th century, tobacconists became important clients of the Dutch delftware factories.
