This Charleston Pembroke or Breakfast Table is an elegant example of a highly desirable style highlighted by the beautifully shaped curvature of the top. conforming frame with line inlaid legs. It is constructed of choice mahogany with excellent color and proportions. The table dates to the end the end of the Colonial period – circa 1775-1780 and incorporates the best stylistic qualities of the period prior to the transition to the Federal taste. It likely came from the same shop as MESDA 2746, page 189 of Bivins and Rauschenberg.
