According to the Kentucky Historical Society, The Louisville Glassworks, sometimes known as the Louisville, Kentucky Glassworks was located at the site of an earlier firm, the Kentucky Glassworks, on Clay and Franklin Streets in Louisville from 1855-1873. The works produced a great variety of bottles of every description and color. The works also produced all the insulators for the first fire alarm and telegraph system in Louisville in 1865. The Company moved to 28th and Montgomery in 1874-75. It became the Louisville Plate Glass Works in 1880.
