Strasburg, Virginia
1880-1903
10.5″ H 8.5″ Diameter
Both the Eberly and Bell families worked in Strasburg and developed polychrome glazes along with glazes utilizing solid greens, browns and manganese splashes. Members of the two families worked in both potteries and produces similar if not identical forms so it is difficult to accurately separate Eberly and Bell products. For an extensive discussion of both families and their wares, see H.E. Comstock’s, The Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region.
