TEA TABLE
Richmond, Virginia
Walnut
Circa 1815-20
H: 29”; W: 28.5”; D: 18
The turned rings, coves and shoulders on the legs of this table appear in different combinations on other Richmond area furniture, most elegantly from the shop of James Rockwood (w. 1815-1825). His kinsman, Curtis Rockwood (w. 1815-1822) operated a turning shop in Richmond and its possible the legs were fashioned by Curtis for construction by another shop.
