Tea Table
Walnut
Wythe County, Virginia
Attributed to the shop of James Frederick Seagle
Circa 1850-1860
26.5″ H” 27″ W  14.5″ D

The distinctive shape of the skirt and the leg turnings link this table to the Seagle Shop that was documented by MESDA.  ( Now in the MESDA Collection, D-33401.) The scalloping extends around all four side of the table suggesting that it was used as a tea or center table.  See MESDA research file, D-33429, D-33334, D-33335 and D-33401 and others.
