Tea Table
Walnut
Baluster turned legs, ball feet joined by molded stretchers
Eastern Virginia
C. 1770
28″ W ??   19.5″ D  28″ H

A handsome, early Virginia rectangular tea table with baluster and ring turned legs. The table and particularly the feet, often times worn to half height or less, are in excellent condition.  The two board top two board top  is lightly chamfered on each edge which serves to refine and lighten the appearance.  The original pegs securing the top to the rails remain with some additions.  This form was popular in the eastern tidewater regions of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and was also found in Charleston.
